Shadows is the Junior Mens Veterans team in the club. This season, 2011/12 we are playing in the Kent Open Premier C league. The side is composed mostly of players between 40-50. All of us have represented the club(s), county(s) and country(s) at higher levels and are now keen to play competitive, but hopefully more sociable hockey against like minded fellows.

The skipper's  emphasis is more on style and enjoyment, although it is always more enjoyble playing winning hockey. We are always happy to welcome new players, especially fit ones and with a modicum of talent!

MATCH REPORT FROM SUNDAY 11th - KENT CUP

Kent Cup Veterans Quarter Final.       Old Bordenians 4 Sevenoaks 5.

On a bright Sunday afternoon, Sevenoaks Vets traveled to Sittingbourne to play Old Bordenians.

A slow start meant that Oaks were 1 down inside 4 minutes.  However, the shock brought the team to life and within 10 minutes Oaks had drawn level with a great break finished by Knox.  Bordenians took the lead again and but the half time break gave extra energy to the Sevenoaks attack and  a lead of 3 -2 developed.  Then a further spell of pressure from the home side forced the equaliser.  With 10 minutes to play Oaks forwards had 2 great short shortcorners from Wood and Longley to give a comfortable lead of 5-3.  However, the deficit was reduced to 1 goal with 5 minutes to play and Oaks played with determination and patience to secure the 5-4 win.

The semi-final is on 1st April with the opponents unknown at this stage.
